What is Stairslide?

Stairslide is a patent-pending modular children's slide for indoor stairs—a safer alternative to using a sleeping bag, cardboard box, or something worse! We're looking at you, kid in the laundry basket wearing aviator goggles! Use Stairslide to slide down any straight set of stairs in the house. The portable, light-weight design helps securely position the slide against your stairs without the need for permanent anchoring or installation.

How does it work?

Stairslide nests on top of other Stairslide pieces so they can extend to cover more stairs. In other words, you can use a single Stairslide on the bottom three stairs or use four Stairslides to cover approximately nine stairs. It all depends on your appetite for thrill. Still looking at you, kid wearing aviator goggles!

Stairslide's patent-pending, self-anchoring design uses unique features to help prevent it from moving during use. Made from durable plastic, Stairslide can withstand frequent use. It's surprisingly light weight, making it easy to adjust or reposition on stairs. We chose this material over less durable (and less expensive) options that would otherwise be discarded after normal wear and tear. Providing a long-lasting solution allows our customers to add additional Stairslides to their collection as little ones grow and become more adventuresome.

When will my order ship?

Stairslide is so popular! Due to high demand and COVID-related delays we are on backorder. Stairslide is estimated to ship after 8-10 weeks. This shipping window is an estimate. You'll receive a confirmation email when your order is shipped by fulfillment.

We're excited customers have started to receive their orders. Search #stairslideisreal on Instagram to verify. We have thousands of pre-orders to fulfill; it will take some time but rest assured your Stairslide is coming. We appreciate your patience and support.

Please remember there are some things we cannot control, including COVID-related delays or congestion at domestic ports. As a courtesy, here are some recent articles that help explain how congestion at domestic ports are affecting the nation's supply chain:

We don't share these links to excuse the delays, rather we simply wish to explain the cause. We respectfully ask that you remember there are human beings on the other side of this business who are desperately trying to overcome legitimate challenges with the national supply chain caused by a global pandemic. Regardless, we promise to do whatever we can to get your Stairslides shipped in a timely manner. And we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding. You'll be sliding sooner than you know!

How many Stairslides do I need to cover my stairs?

Not all stairs are alike. And since there's no way for us to know your stairs' measurements we can only offer a recommendation based on user feedback. One Stairslide typically covers the first three steps. Because they are meant to overlap, add one Stairslide for every two steps after that.

For example, to cover three steps, get a single Stairslide. To cover six steps, consider three Stairslides. To cover nine steps, consider four Stairslides. To cover 11,674 steps...you'll need permission from the Swiss government since you're probably at the Niesen mountain railway!

We recommend placing the bottom end of Stairslide on the first step above ground floor to allow your child to step off at the ground floor. It also gives you room to place your Stairslide Landing Pad!

What are the dimensions?

Each Stairslide is approximately 43 inches (109 cm) long, 19 inches (48.26 cm) wide, with a 13 inch (33.02 cm) seat. A single Stairslide weighs around five pounds (2.3 kg).

Is it okay to slide down head-first on my back while juggling flaming axes?

Umm...NO. Using Stairslide in any way other than sitting forward with un-crossed legs stretched outward may result in serious injury. Please read our Product Safety & Liability Release.

What is Stairslide made of?

Plastic. Stairslide is made of durable (and recyclable) ABS plastic.

Is a curved section available for turns in my stairs?

Unfortunately, not at this time. Stairslide is used for straight staircases only. Physics is currently winning the battle to develop this component. But who knows? Good things may be right around the CORNER!

Is there a weight or age limit?

That's kind of a heavy question. Ongoing field testing has yielded promising results: We recommend Stairslide for ages 3-12 even though it can support a person up to 175 lbs without showing signs of structural weakness. We will continue to make recommendations that help ensure the safety of our users.

Does Stairslide work on wood or non-carpeted stairs?

Yes. And Stairslide does not damage non-carpeted stairs when used properly.
